Hello! I’m Jomani Danielle and I’m a native of Brooklyn,NY. I started my journey as a classically trained vocalist before discovering my love for visual arts during the lockdown of 2020. From there I began working in many art galleries in New York City.
I launched my professional art career with an internship at a Soho gallery in 2021, rising to roles like Event Coordinator and interim Assistant Director. As an organizer and event coordinator, I began constructing ways to bring visual arts to non-traditional art spaces.
I have curated art for comedy shows. One of my longtime clients, the comedy organizer behind Fool’s Circle , Teklai can attest to how live art elevated the experience for the shows during the summer. I have painted for them in 2022, and from 2022-2024 I have curated other live painters for their events. Partnering with Art On The Ave, I curated the first Brooklyn exhibition that I conceptualized “Spread Love It’s The Brooklyn Way” a public art installation sponsored by New York Presbyterian Hospital in the summer of 2024. I have independently curated over 20 exhibitions in the past 4 years working with New York-based visual artists of all mediums and backgrounds.
When I’m not performing with my band Loc’d In as a vocalist at live music venues such as NUBLU, writing and conducting interviews for art magazines such as UPMAG or Bleucalf magazine, producing wellness events based on mental health and art therapy with the Life Wellness Center, or teaching abstract art to private clients on the Upper West Side with the meditation arts nonprofit organization SPARK, I am a full-time student of advertising and marketing communications at the Fashion Institute of Technology!
If any of my skills intersect with your interests I can be booked for consultations or collaborations in the following pages I have linked on my website. Looking forward to working with you soon!
Testimonials
“Jomani is amazing! Was looking for last minute graphic design work and she had it looking great, done fast, and with amazing communication and energy the whole time.”
Connell Thompson (Saxophonist)
“My experience of working with Jomani was nothing short of amazing. We made magic at Lips Cafe together for Juneteenth weekend and the artwork she curated and the artists that she connected us with made the month as successful as it was for us. She is beyond professional and a great communicator. She makes curating an art and the passion she has for the arts is second to none”
Jamane Weekes, Lips Cafe Owner
“Jomani has a level of professionalism that shows in the quality of her craft. my experience with jomani has been very pleasant. she has a way of communicating that not only informs her audience of her subjects/clients, but also can give a clear depiction of who her clients are at thier core and how they want to convey their message. when jomani is on the job, i know to expect quality and timely results"
Jeffrey Melo (Fine Artist)
“Jomani is as talented of an artist as she is a curator. She helped me book live painters for our annual block party event in Brooklyn in 2022 and 2023. It really added a beautiful element to the show that our patrons really enjoyed, but I mean who doesn’t love seeing beautiful black art being made live. She is deeply entrenched in the artist community in New York, so she was able to select highly talented artists who I wouldn’t have been able to book even if I knew who they were. “
