Jomani Danielle has been curating art exhibitions independently since 2022. Impassioned by the lack of representation for artists of color, she was inspired to curate her first Group Exhibition, “Living In Color,” in June 2022. The show was dedicated to black queer artists during Pride month and since then she has curated exhibitions ranging from topics such as religious trauma and spirituality to mental wellness in Black and Brown communities. She is an independent curator open to collaboration and consultation.

Oh The Places You’ll Go…
The title of the exhibition is inspired by two books which have propelled Soul into her career with a level of passion undeterred. The first- “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, and the second classic “Oh The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss.
It is courage and a general trust in your “Personal Legend” that propels people to excel past the fates that society assigns them due to their circumstances or surroundings. Oh The Places You’ll Go is a highlighted exhibition that showcases the work of Old Art Soul and her artistic journey.
This exhibition pulls works from Souls collection in the USA. It is serving as a fundraiser to provide for the youth of West Africa. During a recent trip to Ghana and Nigeria, Old Art Soul had the ability to see firsthand children who need proper access to resources as well as an education. One of her goals is to help foster the creativity of these children to inspire them to reach for the stars. Photography that Soul captured whilst in Ghana and Nigeria are also incorporated in this show.
Soul has decided to donate 30
% of all sold works to Africa Everything, where they provide resources for these children to have an education. Knowledge is an empowering tool, and it’s time we come together to ensure that it’s possible for the children of the diaspora to be able to access it.
Jomani Danielle will be curating these large scale works that play in multiple mediums. They will be shown from 3/1/23- 3/30/23 at Basquiat’s Bottle.
